During the Oldies Festival you find yourself in the city centre of Franeker in the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s. The era of quiffs, vintage cars, Rock 'n Roll dancers and great music.
At Raadhuisplein, activities for children start in the afternoon, with crafts, face painting and a hula hoop competition with music by DJ Quickfinger. And you might bump into Marilyn Monroe while walking around the centre.
On Breedeplaats and Voorstraat, various bands play hit after hit. You can dance the night away until the early hours. On Voorstraat, beautiful vintage cars drive around, with a nice tour beforehand.

The oldest annual sports classic does not need to be marked on the calendar for kaatsen enthusiasts in Friesland. The PC in Franeker takes place every year on the fifth Wednesday after 30 June, that is a given. Since 1853, the largest kaatsen match in the world has only been cancelled a few times.
The abbreviation PC refers to the Permanent Commission of the Franeker Kaatsen Match.
